Monarch is a British costume drama involving Henry VIII. It was written and directed by John Walsh and released in 2000. The extra-ordinary thing about Monarch is that it was my first film as costume designer, shot straight after I graduated. Sadly the rushes went missing and was mysteriously found when Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ was remastered as cinematographer Ray Andrew ran steadicam on that masterpiece of cinema.
