Discovering the character through fabric and colour

S uzanne has worked on award winning films as costume designer including 2019 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner Clemency, nominated for 2 Gotham Awards and 3 Independent Spirit Awards.

With a BA in costume design from the prestigious Wimbledon School of Art in London, Suzanne cut her teeth in theatre and short films including The Seasons Alter starring Keira Knightley, before working in independent feature film and high end television for networks like Netflix and FX. Suzanne’s first feature film contract was the Velvet Goldmine, where she worked with Academy winning Costume Designer Sandy Powell. This lead to other opportunities within the UK Film industry such as Costume buying on The Da Vinci Code with Academy Nominated Costume Designer Daniel Orlandi. Suzanne has collaborated with acclaimed actors such as Ulrich Thomsen (The Celebration,The International, Banshee) on his directorial debut In Embryo, lensed by cinematographer Stefan Ciupek. Other collaborations with Ulrich Thomsen include his second feature Gutterbee, (cast: Ewen Bremner, Antony Starr) with Academy winning cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle which had a festival run including Tallinn Black Nights, São Paulo International Film Festival and the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2019. The US released title American Sausage Standoff via Samuel Goldwyn Films. 

Other film work includes the critically-acclaimed Never Here (Vertical/Starz), starring Mireille Enos and Oscar-nominated Sam Shepard. (The Guardian, “Biggest Films of Autumn 2018” 4/5 stars)
Suzanne designed Where The Road Runs Out directed by Rudolf Buitendach (cast: Isaach De Bankolé, Juliet Landau) which won the Black Reel Award for Outstanding World Cinema Motion Picture and the San Diego Film Festival Award for Best Feature. 

Suzanne’s most recent film Row a thriller shot in Scotland, features Sophie Skelton from the Outlander franchise and Bella Dayne (Troy: Fall of a City). 

Suzanne has a diverse body of international work including UK/Scotland, South Africa, North West Africa, The Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Cambodia and the US.
